Maintenance Guide for Plywood with Laminate

🧼 1. Cleaning (Laminate Surface)

• Daily Cleaning: Use a soft cloth with mild soap and water or a laminate-safe cleaner (e.g., diluted vinegar solution).

• Avoid soaking—use a damp cloth, not a wet one.

• Dry immediately to prevent moisture from seeping into the plywood edges.

🧴 2. Stain & Spot Removal

• For sticky or greasy spots, use a non-abrasive cleaner or baking soda paste (test in a small area first).

• Do not use abrasive pads or steel wool—they’ll scratch the laminate.

• Avoid bleach or ammonia-based cleaners that can dull the laminate finish.

🔥 3. Heat & Scratch Protection

• Laminate can blister or delaminate from heat, so:

  • Keep hot items off the surface—use trivets or mats.

  • Use coasters to protect from stains or moisture rings.

• Prevent scratches by using felt pads under decor items and not dragging anything across the surface.

💧 4. Moisture Caution (For Plywood Core)

• Even though laminate is water-resistant, exposed edges of plywood can swell if moisture penetrates.

  • Seal exposed edges with edge banding or clear sealant.

  • Keep the unit in a dry, ventilated area.

🌞 5. Sunlight Exposure

• Prolonged sunlight can fade laminate:

  • Use UV-filtering window treatments.

  • Avoid placing the furniture in direct sunlight for long periods.
