Because plywood is not naturally weather-resistant, protective treatment and ongoing care are essential:

• Make sure the plywood is sealed with outdoor-grade varnish, polyurethane, or marine epoxy.

• Reapply sealant every 6–12 months depending on climate and wear.

• Keep the furniture under a covered area or use waterproof furniture covers.

• Avoid placing directly on wet grass or soil—place it on stone, tile, or decking.

• If water spills or rain occurs, dry immediately to prevent delamination or swelling.

• Apply a UV-protective finish or use a clear UV spray to prevent fading or cracking from sun exposure.
